Today I decided to install Mandrake 6.0. But after I boot from CD-Rom, going through "Choose a Language", "Installation Method" , then insert the CD, it says "Initiating the CD....", then nothing happens, the machine hang up there. I also tried floppy boot, expert, they all hang up in the same place.

Do a clean install of SBS 2k3, using the same netbios and domain names as the original installation. Go to MU and update everything (several times). One of the issues will be to install SBS SP1. Create computer and user accounts. At this point, get some advice on restoring data, and exchange.

I was trying to install VB6 Pro. If you check the KB192731 article (BUG: Hang or application error in setup(VS60wiz.exe)) you will notice that this is one of the ones that is affected by this bug. VS6 Pro is not on the list, but the enterprise edition is so it depends on what version you have.

I have a W2K compatible pc that hangs whenever I do an install. It hangs at the same spot. When the blue screen appears and says "Setting up Windows 2000". It just sits there.
